February flew by in a flash. I think I blinked this month and it was over.
We celebrated Grandma Sue's birthday with a Saturday brunch at our house (again, sorry I have no pics). It was a great occasion.
Drew studied Ancient Egypt at school and dressed up as a mummy on Egypt day.
We went out for ice cream to celebrate Evelyn getting into kindergarten at Peak to Peak. Cate ate her first ice cream cone by herself. She looks like she has a brain freeze, but truly this is the face she makes when you say "cheese!"
Cate has also recently begun to show more interest in the potty. At least she likes to spend time on it, eating her snack. Someday we will learn the right way to use it!
Tim and I got the pleasure of spending a wonderful weekend in Colorado Springs at the renowned Broadmoor Hotel for a Family Life Marriage Retreat weekend over Valentine's Day. It was such a wonderful weekend to renew our committment to each other and what a beautiful setting to spend two nights away from the kiddos. We had gorgeous weather too. Temperatures were in the 70's on Saturday.
Evelyn had such a wonderful Mother's Tea to sing to and celebrate us moms. I felt really loved and appreciated.
Drew and Tim built a volcano from a science kit he got for Christmas. The kids had fun making it erupt in the basement work room. What a mess!!
Drew was such a strong and brave boy. He had allergy testing done so we could determine what was causing his seasonal allergies and hearing problems. It turns out he is not highly reactive to anything and his hearing problems seem to have been corrected somehow. He earned a special ice cream treat for his bravery!!
Finally, we celebrated Tim's birthday the last weekend in February because we had plans to go skiing on his actual birthday. Tim's parents were happy to host us and feed us yummy Famous Dave's ribs. Evelyn tried ribs for the first time, despite my silly face, she liked them. It was such a joy to celebrate my wonderful husband who is 36 years young!!
