First timers at the Boulder Reservoir

Well, we have heard from numerous people we needed to check out the swimming beach at Boulder reservoir.  Unfortunately, we chose the day that they had a triathlon, so the beach was busy, the parking lot was full, and we had to dodge bikers and runners to get to the beach.

The kids had fun.  I did not get in the water.  Look at it...it looks like poop water...but all the kids did and they had fun.  Even Cate put her toesies in the water.  However, she preferred to find treasures on the beach.  She is very different from Ev who wouldn't touch the sand on the Jersey shore when she was Cate's age.

Not a lot of pics from the day, but at least we can now say we did it!

Kraft Rodeo

Labor Day weekend was kind of a lazy weekend in our house.  The kids put on a dazzling rodeo show for us; with a horse, lassos, hats and boots.  These were some of the best pics!  The videos are hilarious, but I couldn't listen to my annoying laughter on them, so you just get photos!  The number of times Drew smacked himself in the face/head/body with his lasso was too comical!

1st day of 1st grade

On August 21st, 2014, Drew started 1st grade at Peak to Peak.  His teacher is Miss Harlow.  When he grows up he wants to be a football player.  He looks nervous doesn't he?!  He had a great first day and all the nerves went away.  This kid loves school!

The Naked Scooter Girl

On Evelyn's actual birthday she got to open gifts from us.  She was most fond of her new Razor Scooter.  Nothing like a little scooting in your undies before starting the day!

Birthday continued with packages arriving all week!

A FROZEN birthday for our Sisters!

So Evelyn claimed to be Elsa and I guess that made Cate's character, Anna.  Who could pass up the FROZEN theme for these sister's 4th and 1st birthdays?!?!  Sisters forever!?!?  I had so much fun with all the decorations and planning.  Thank goodness for Tim and my parents who helped me get everything setup the night before, including filling the piƱata and cutting out all the snowflakes.  By the end of the night it was a competition to see who could create the most intricate snowflake.  The girls had a great time celebrating with friends and family.  Here are some highlights from the marathon day.

Bike park birthday party

The kids were invited to a birthday party at a local park that has a bike course for kids.  The day before it had rained pretty good.  That didn't stop any of the kids from tearing it up on the hills.  Even our "girlie tomboy" had a blast!  Unfortunately, Drew was grounded from his bike so he could only watch...bummer!  I had to throw away Ev's shoes and socks and the dress has permanent stains, but the memories that were made...priceless!

Breckenridge in July Part 3

"Foxy" loved to hang out around the house.  We found out later it is because a neighbor woman feeds it and whistles to call it.  We heard her yelling "Foxy" one day from her deck.
