When Adam and Laura were here we went to the Wild Animal Sanctuary. Such a cool experience! You walk on a mile long platform and look at tigers, lions and bears (oh my) below you! Here are some of my favorite pics from the day.

Evelyn's Princess Party
The night before Evelyn's princess party, Uncle Adam and Aunt Laura arrived. They held Cate while I finished baking the cupcakes for the party. Good hands-on-experience for their baby due in Dec.
The day of the party, Ev opens her presents from Adam and Laura
The party began at 11. We had Chick-fil-a and ice cream cake from DQ.
All the kids had fun playing in the pool, on the slip and slide,
and blowing bubbles.

Drew's 1st day of Kindergarten
Well, we had quite an interesting start to Drew's kindergarten year. In Colorado, it is an open enrollment state, meaning we tried to get Drew into 3 of the better schools in our area. He ended up on the waitlist for all of them, which meant we had to attend our neighborhood school (Lafayette), unless we got a call from the others saying he made it in. Luckily, our top school (Peak to Peak) had him in the 4th spot on the waitlist. However, come August, we still had not heard from Peak to Peak, so we proceeded to prepare him for Lafayette. He met his teacher, dropped off supplies, and was prepared to start on Aug 26th. Then on Aug 22nd, we got the call from Peak to Peak that he was accepted and would start the next day. So, that very day, with a 7 day old, we went to visit his new school and meet his new teacher, Mrs. Prieto. God is good, what a blessing it has been to have him at Peak to Peak. He is loving school and making lots of new friends!

Evelyn's actual 3rd birthday
Even though we had a 4 day old at home, we still celebrated Evelyn's birthday with Grandma Sue, Grandpa Dick and Aunt Annie. Here are some of my favorite photos from the day...
Ev loved her new soccer ball from Aunt Annie
And her cowboy boots from Grandma Sue and Grandpa Dick
Here she is modeling her new Broncos cheerleader outfit
She got a second pair of boots from Grandma Ruby and Grandpa Jim
We bought her a Strider Bike, so she can keep up with her brother!
She had a birthday ice cream sandwich!
Loved her Cinderella costume (from my parents) and her matching doll (from Tim's parents)
Look at the concentration while opening presents from Aunt Ashley and Uncle Troy and Cael

Baby 3 arrives...late
So little Catherine Ruby made her birth story interesting just like her brother and sister before her. She started many weeks ahead to prepare for labor (lots of false labor), she decided at 5 days late to make the false labor so intense that we went to the hospital. The doctor would have sent us home had I not been Group B strep positive and allergic to penecillin which meant the antibiotics they give me have to be twelve hours apart. Finally my water broke after being at the hospital for 8 hrs. So you think that would mean baby would come soon...nope not for 8 more hours! I thought the 3rd just popped out of you!! After 5 loud and intense pushes, finally the doctor says " It's a girl!" And I say, "Are you kidding me?" I was convinced I was having a boy. Tim, who is lying down on the couch after watching those 5 loud and intense pushes, laughs at my response! The nurse takes her off my chest and weighs her, 7 lbs 10.6oz...my biggest by almost a whole pound. And what a big joy and blessing she has been for our family. Big brother and big sister love her to pieces!
Getting through a contraction

Two wheelin'
One last task before Baby 3 arrives: teach Drew to ride without training wheels. Check!
And he mastered it so quickly...very fun (and scary) to watch him ride around the neighborhood now!
Let's go fly a kite!
My due date turned out to be a very windy day...we all enjoyed a moment as a family of four flying kites at the grassy hill by our house. No stork showed up with a baby on this windy day though!
