Bushnell Colorado Visit- Jan/Feb 2012

So, we had the pleasure of having Ashley, Troy and Cael spend some time with us in our new home.  The kids had an awesome time with their cousin, aunt and uncle.  Below are some of my favorite photos from their time spent here with captions.  I can't wait for their next visit, but first we will go to Iowa for Cael's 1st birthday!!

We tortured them with a hike on a terribly windy day...they will probably never come back.

We got almost 20 inches of snow the day before Ashley and Cael were to fly home

Where's Waldo?-2nd Hike in Eldorado Canyon

So this was our 2nd family hike.  We went to Eldorado Springs (Eldorado Canyon).  It is supposedly the mecca for rock climbing.  We started our family hike out on a nice trail that allows for great views of the rock climbers and the canyon below, but decided that it was too treacherous (slippery and narrow) for us to feel safe.

Anybody up for a game of "Where's Waldo?" or "Where are those CRAZY rock climbers?"  The 1st photo is the rocky cliff.  The next photo is zoomed in a rock climber on that cliff.

We took the kids on an easier trail that had caves, big boulders over creeks and climbing walls low enough for the kids to try.

First Family Hike in Colorado

We took our 1st family hike ever in Colorado.  We went to Chautauqua Park and did one of the easier trails.  It was a little over 1.5 miles and Drew did the entire thing by himself.  We were so proud of him.  Evelyn even enjoyed it (now when we get the backpack out she says "Hiking?"  It was a great workout for me because I carried Evelyn the entire hike and the 1st part was ALL UPHILL!!  The trail was pretty slick, but we all escaped injury!  We can't wait to do more of these in the spring/summer and fall.

Chhhhheeeeeesssssseeeee!!!!!!

Tim and Drew were trying to teach Evelyn how to say "Cheese"!  I love Tim's ability to capture these great moments on camera.  He is so wonderful about taking photos of my beautiful babies!  Thanks honey!!

Oops, I did it again!

Sorry it has been awhile since I last posted.  We have been SO BUSY!  So I apologize ahead of time for the barrage of emails you will receive as I try to update this blog!

In early January, we had the joy of hosting Grandma Sue and Grandpa Dick on their 1st trip to our home in Colorado.  The kids had a wonderful time with the grandparents and I think Dick and Sue really enjoyed their time here.  Gma Sue and Gpa Dick learned to play lots of games and puzzles, read lots of books, and even helped at bath time.  We took them to Chautauqua Park, Pearl Street Mall, and to Red Rocks with Christy and Kevin and the boys in Golden, CO. Next time, in April, Annie gets to come out...so we are very excited about that visit!  Here is a collage of photos from the Kraft visit.
