Week in Review
Our little "Linus"....he loves this blanket (THANKS AUNT ASHLEY)!!
"Drew the Explorer" (play on Diego)...he is wearing his Thomas the Train hat and his monkey backpack.
Drew wanted to climb into Natty's bed and imitate what she does in the bed (note the lifting of the leg to rub his belly)...then you can see how happy she was to see him in her bed.

Napoleon Dynamite
So tomorrow is Drew's 11 month birthday. I feel like having a birthday every day until he turns one to celebrate his "baby-ness". I am sadly watching it disappear. He understands so much of what I say now and he is walking so well by himself. The post a while back about his cuddlyness with his mom...well that is over...it was too short-lived. Now he pushes away from me and runs away from my kisses.
He is ALL LITTLE BOY...doesn't care to get dirty, tries to climb everything, puts everything including dirt and leaves in his mouth, isn't afraid of anything, and plays with the "wee wee" between his legs.
Took a few pictures of him the other day with his slippers that Grandma and Grandpa Kahler got him for Christmas. They finally fit him...thanks grandma and grandpa...they help when his pjs are too slippery to walk in!! I think he looks like my little "Napoleon Dynamite" in the slippers though (for those who have seen the movie). He found out the hard way that ziploc bags on the kitchen floor (which he put there) are slippery also, regardless of whether or not you have your slippers on.

Bath Signing
Drew is learning sign language and he understands "bath". He even signed it the other day which really surprised us! This first video is not the best since it was done at arms length by mom while she held Drew...sorry!

60's in February
So, my friend called yesterday from Seattle, to apologize to me and eat her words. It was snowing in Seattle and 60 degrees in Milwaukee! Finally, we were on the good end of the receiving line. The weather probably played a part in the wonderful day we had yesterday. Here is what we did:

1) Went to my MOPS group in the morning, which I love to see all my friends every other Tuesday. The topic of the day was "SEX", just in time for Valentine's. Very interesting topic, especially in a church! Our wonderful MOPS group leaders prepared dinner for all the ladies in my group as our Valentine's day gift so we would not have to prepare dinner that night! AWESOME!
2) Went for a walk and played outside because it was so nice out!!
3) Surprised by Dad coming home early, he wanted to also enjoy the nice weather. So we went outside and played again. See photos.
4) Talked to my friend from Seattle, which is always great to catch up! We are planning a trip to the Oregon Coast for the summer...YEAH!
5) Talked to my friend who is pregnant to make plans for Valentine's Day massages...YIPPEE!! Finally I get a girls day!
6) Eat our wonderful dinner that I did not have to prepare..beef stew, salad, bread and cookies! YUM! I will probably have the leftovers for lunch today.
7) Put the boy to bed at 8:15pm and snuggled on the couch with my wonderful husband!
WHAT A WONDERFUL DAY! I hope we get more 60 degree days in February.

Turning One and Thirty and Reflecting...
I can't believe my son is going to be one in less than two months. He still seems like a baby to me and mothers tell me that he will seem more like a little boy after this birthday. I am not sure that I am ready for this!!
His dad is also turning 30 in March so we are celebrating two important milestones!!
Looking back and reflecting on the past year, it is hard to imagine my life without him now. He brings so much joy, laughter, frustration, tears, happiness, tiredness, fear and love to our lives. This time last year, I couldn't wait to not be pregnant anymore, but less than one year later and I am excited to begin trying for another baby!
Right now he is such a momma's boy, which I am very happy about because I am told to enjoy it now! It breaks Tim's heart though, I can see it! I just hope he remembers that his time is coming. When Drew is old enough to wrestle and play with dad, he won't even remember who his mother is!! I just hope he continues to hug and kiss me, because they are the best! The biting I could live without, but let that be a phase he is going through!!
As I am writing this he is upstairs FIGHTING his nap...he didn't take a morning nap...so I really hope he crashes soon! Anyways, just wanted to share some reflections and some photos from the past weekend...
Learning how to drink milk from a sippy cup
Cute moment with Dad
My two kids
LOVE THAT SMILE!!
He is into undressing (shoes, socks, pants)! Big smooches for mom!
Always a fight to get him dressed again!
