Fall has officially arrived...

This weekend was nice and relaxing. We tried to enjoy the good weather before it leaves us (highs in the 50's and 60's this week...YUK)! Friday night we played kickball on one of Tim's co-workers teams who needed some extra people. It was fun. Drew and Mom were catchers (he stayed on the other side of the fence) but he cheered every time Mom did!

Saturday we went to the Farmer's Market...Mom was craving some fresh tomatoes...BLT's...YUM!!! We also went to the park for a picnic and let Drew swing and teeter-totter. Dad spent a lot of time in the yard this weekend (mowing, pruning, etc) and Drew helped!! Mom and Dad got to relax and watch a movie together on Sat night...Baby Mama...highly recommend it!!!
Sunday we went to church and then watched football most of the day. Drew has been kind of "cranky" lately with the teething and growing. He has been REALLY fighting the naps, but it's okay because today Mom all ready has two naps out of him and he only "fought" sleep for a few minutes each time.
Today we have a playdate with Noah, our pastor's son and his mom...should be fun and hopefully will get pictures to share.

Doctor, Doctor...

Andrew had is 6 MONTH checkup today! He was such a big boy! He is 50th percentile in height at 26.75 inches, 75th percentile in head circumference, and 25th percentile in weight at 15lbs. 3 oz. The doctor said he got an A+ today!
He is doing well with solids and needs to continue to eat 2-3 meals a day, preferably when we eat, as babies to not like to eat alone. Within the next few months, we should also start to introduce some pureed meats into his diet, 2-4 tablespoons a day. We can also start to give him finger foods (pea size and very soft) when he is able to sit independently.
He also was a "trooper" during his shots. He only had to get 3 this time because they combined 3 shots in one, which was nice because otherwise he would've had 5 shots!! YIKES!!!!!!!
Now he is sleeping like a baby....

Happy Six Month Birthday to Drew!!

Today is Drew's 6 month birthday!! He hung out with dad and listened to the Vikings on Sirius radio (silly Bears were on TV)! We didn't do anything special for him today, just relaxed.

Prunes...YUM YUM

So we finally made it to Drew's final fruit of the 1st foods, Prunes!! He loved them. As the photos show, they are the messiest but he just can't get enough!

Also, while Dad ate his cereal this morning, he fed Drew his bananas and cereal this morning for breakfast. Dad got to see how good he has gotten at eating. He leans forward and opens his mouth when you say or sign "more". So he officially understands two signs now..."milk" and "more". He obviously doesn't use them yet himself, but he understands them.

We went to Story Time again this morning. We were disappointed today because "Dorothy" didn't show up..HA HA! Long story short, there is a 3 year old boy named Henry that insists everyone call him "Dorothy" and use "she" when we refer to him. He came to the last class with a Spiderman cape wrapped around him like an apron, carrying a basket with a little plastic black dog,Todo! Too bad he wasn't there this week!!

Rainy Weekend

Sunday was a wash out...we were supposed to go to the zoo on Sunday with the church...but IKE ruined our plans. But on a brighter note, Tim's parents came to visit and brought Natty back to us! Tim and I also had our first night out together in a long time...we went to a Murder Mystery Party at a friends house and we had to dress up, obviously. I was Diana Rush and Tim was John Revolting. We had a really great night.
Tim's parents said Drew was good and they enjoyed the quality time with him. He is really trying to figure out this crawling stuff.

Finally, we decided to see what Drew would look like with brown hair, since that is winning in our poll. We thought it was pretty cute because he looks like a girl with it on!!

Peaches, Applesauce and Pears...

Drew loves them all. He really likes when I mix any of these fruit with his rice cereal for breakfast. The last fruit to try is Prunes. They look good to me. Still can't get him to eat Peas, we'll keep trying though! Now when I say "more" he opens his mouth really big to wait for the next bite!!

Bananas...

Drew tried his first fruit, but he didn't like Bananas very much! We even tried mixing them with the rice cereal to take away some of the tartness. Next we will try peaches. I am very pleased with the way he is taking to solids. We try a new one every two days, unless I notice that he doesn't like or spits up more from a certain one and then we stop with that one until he gets older.

Story Time

Today we went to the Elm Grove Library for "Mommy and Baby StoryTime". We had a lot of fun with the other kids and the storyteller is really good! There is only one other baby around Drew's age and his name is Ben (they range from 2 months to 3 years old),. We are excited to go back next Thursday!

Vikings vs. Packers Football Game

On Monday night, we went to Dino and Stephanie's house for the Vikings vs. Packer game. Boo Vikings, they lost to the stinky Packers!!!

Drew and Ellie had a lot of fun playing together. Ellie really liked Drew's toy "Dino" the Dinosaur and kept trying to keep him from playing with it. When Drew pushed her back, she tattled on him to her daddy!!

Drew really likes his toy "Dino", so much that he decided to use it as a footrest when lounging.

Drew also really liked Ellie's "jumper". I had to make Tim promise not to buy another toy that won't fit in our house!!

Finally, Drew is also getting really good at sitting up with very little support. Occasionally, he overstretches for a toy and takes a "nosedive"!!

Peas and Carrots...

Carrots he loved...better yet...he inhaled them! Peas...I have never seen a funnier face...he refused to eat them. He would bang his arms and throw a fit if I tried to feed him another bite. Guess he takes after his mom!! That's okay though, we will try them again when he gets a little older and his taste has developed some.

Squash and Green Beans...

He loves them all. He must take after his mother (yes, I have tasted them all). Peas and carrots are next (I don't think I will be tasting the peas..yuk!) Then we move onto fruits. He has also started to like baby oatmeal cereal, not just the rice cereal! This is so fun! I promise I will try to get videos/photos up soon.

Sweet Potatoes!

Drew had his first taste of REAL food last night. We gave him sweet potatoes for dinner. He really liked them!! He also had them today for lunch. No pictures/videos yet because I couldn't feed and handle the camera. Just wanted to let everyone know that he has taken the next step towards growing up!! YEAH!

Drew excited to go swimming in Boston

Listen carefully and you will hear his "coos". I am making noise also, so it is hard to catch them all. He loves to go swimming!

Fenway Park Tour

Here are videos from the Fenway Park tour. Our tour guide was really funny and he knew his Boston Red Sox info. He was such an funny old man!!

Boston Trip

First of all, I have to congratulate Tim on his victory! The Milwaukee Hurling Club's Junior B's won nationals for the 2nd year in a row! YIPPEE!!! Tim played well in the final match with two assists and one point. Junior C's lost to Indianapolis in the semi-finals.
Drew had a lot of fun in Boston also. He went swimming, toured Fenway Park , walked the Freedom Trail, and watched Dad's hurling matches. He also helped Dad celebrate with the trophy (don't worry he didn't drink the beer inside the trophy)!! He met a new girlfriend also, Addison! I will send more photos via Shutterfly soon.
